may days

Not sure where May went (seems like it was just my birthday), but since it's June I figured I'd post about what we've been up to the last month or so. I haven't posted about the nursery furniture or the bathroom vanity until now because there hasn't been an update. Both were back ordered - trying my patience, especially with an unknown arrival date. I was beginning to wonder which would arrive first - the baby or the back ordered furniture ;-)

So, after a month delay, the bathroom vanity arrived this past Tuesday! Dominic and my dad spent the entire evening assembling and after only 2 trips to Lowes for plumbing parts, we have a functioning vanity in our master bath. Mirror and medicine cabinet are hung and there's just a few finishing touches left. Everything else that we'd selected and installed without the vanity (tile, paint, shade, light fixture, etc.) matches well, so that was a big relief ... didn't want to get the vanity only to find out that it clashed horribly with the paint or something!

We ordered the crib back in February. At the time I thought we were way ahead of schedule, but as it still hasn't arrived and we've reached the 35 week mark, I'm thankful that we ordered it when we did! Supposedly, it's left the warehouse (last week) and we'll get it early this week. The glider/rocker did arrive and the curtains are hung, but that's the only progress we've made. It's kind of hard to do much else without the furniture! So, my mind is spinning with room decoration ideas and furniture placement options for a few more days. At least I have the bathroom to distract me!

Other fun happenings in May:

• Three baby showers. We are so blessed with amazing family and friends - baby Schulte is going to have lots of great gifts to enjoy when he/she arrives!
  
• Dawn and Charlie got haircuts.
  
• Dominic and his dad went camping in Kansas (they both forgot cameras, so no pictures of this trip).
  
• Our company is looking for new office space so we'll be moving out of the basement!
• We ventured to the lake over Memorial Day weekend.
• Tiled Dawn's family's back splash.
• "Graduated" from our child birthing classes, so we're theoretically ready for labor/delivery - funny how they don't cover actually raising a baby ... guess we'll have to wing that part ;-)
